Bryan Rodriguez: Cracking pdfs for estimating space vehicle launch costs
The next frontier of commercial financing & trading may very well be in space! However, the proprietary nature of launch costs make it difficult to obtain transportation cost data for modeling purposes. Enter the tabulizer R package, which binds to the Tabula Java library, and will extract clean data.frames from pdf reports! In this talk, Bryan will demonstrate how it greatly aided his workflow for estimating launch costs. Time permitting he will discuss the modeling process in greater depth. Bryan will present the full talk on pricing commodities in space at the following R/Finance conference.

Daughter & Father Duo, Katherine & Adam Ginensky: Quick Data maps with R
The purpose of this talk is to show how someone relatively new to R, can use R packages like sf & sp to plot 2D & 3D spatial data onto high quality maps in no time! This father daughter duo learned how together and will share the knowledge gained on their journey with you.
