What we're about

The Southside Builders Association is a not-for-profit association of professional builders and Real Estate Professionals dedicated to the rejuvenation of Chicago’s historic south side. In addition to supporting its members' commitment to building superior quality homes, the SBA seeks to provide technical and professional input to the City of Chicago on issues affecting housing. Together with the City and our neighbors, the SBA has long term plans to contribute to the expansive rebirth of Chicago’s great south side neighborhoods. Currently SBA Members are rental property owners and managers active in the development of hundreds of new construction townhomes and condos as well as single family homes and mixed use developments on the South Side of Chicago in neighborhoods such as North Kenwood, Oakland, Hyde Park, Bronzeville, Woodlawn and South Shore.

Southside Builders Association is THE community of REAL ESTATE investors, rehabbers, builders, rental property owners, flippers, developers, managers and principals of residential and commercial real estate. Through the goal of bringing established real estate pros together for a monthly lunch meeting to share knowledge, stay abreast of the market, connect with peers and participate in a forum to discuss and learn about industry issues, trends and opportunities, SBA members experience significant personal and professional value....Getting deals done is always a benefit too.

We're proud to work together in our City and with our neighbors to contribute to the expansive rebirth of Chicago’s great south side as well as all neighborhoods.

Needs a location

No matter how long you have been investing in real estate or how long you will invest in real estate, the bad news is you are going to die. The Good News is that you may not have to pay taxes, at least property taxes that is. Don't miss your opportunity to INCREASE your RENTAL INCOME (or Property Value) by decreasing your property tax burden! This month we are hosting the Honorable John M Allegretti - Cook County Circuit Court Judge - 1st Municipal District. John will discuss: Property taxes, tax appeals, redeeming sold taxes and property tax rates and maybe even how to avoid death:-) You won't want to miss this special opportunity to learn from one of the best. John knows his stuff in this area and has an impressive career to prove it. John has authored and helped create laws to ensure property tax relief, prevent mortgage fraud, and make government more transparent. He has helped hundreds of homeowners, churches, and businesses by preventing mortgage fraud, vacating tax sales, and correcting property tax errors. We will hear about the Cook County Treasurers Office which collects and distributes over $11,000,000,000 (billion) on 1.8 million properties annually. Bring your questions on tax sales, delinquencies, refunds & certificate of error. Previously, John held positions with the Cook County Treasurer Office, the Cook County Assessors Office, the Cook County Asst States Attorney, the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board and of course, as an Attorney. We look forward to seeing you this month at The Parthenon, yes, they have free valet parking. Lunch is $40 or you can become a 2015 member for $150.
