Functional Programming, React, and Compilers with ReasonML by Dylan Irlbeck

Details

ReasonML is how the original creator of React, Jordan Walke, envisioned React to be written. It's a statically typed, faster and simpler cousin of JavaScript, built on the battle-tested language, OCaml. In this talk we'll introduce the concepts of functional programming in the context of ReasonML and then end by diving deeper into what you can do in Reason with some React and compiler theory. No functional programming experience required!

Dylan Irlbeck is a student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and SWE intern at Draftbit. He's also a functional programming enthusiast and former student in a programming languages & compilers course.
