Where is the coolest place you've ever camped? What is your favorite campgrounds?

The coolest place (pun intended) was at 12,000 feet on the Ingraham glacier when I climbed Mt. Rainier. There are too many good campgrounds, each with its own unique features, for me to pick a favorite.

Do you perfer group campsites or getting individual campsites? Do you perfer food included or bring your own? What about having potluck?

Group campsites are better for promoting social interaction. The same is true for having food included, with group participation in the preparation of meals.

How far are you willing to travel to camp? How many days should the trip be?

I've been on long weekend trips to Door County in Wisconsin and the Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan. Both of those trips are probably at the max that I'd be willing to drive.

Do you own an RV? Do you tent camp? Do you perfer sites with electricity? Are showers at the campground a must?

Staying in an RV does not qualify as camping. Electricity is not a requirement, and is even a negative feature when it is used for running air conditioners all night. Showers are not required, but are nice to have available.

Please suggest a camping trip or a outdoor adventure for the group (include details like the location and a good month for the trip).

I'm an active backpacker and camper, and I'm always looking for new friends to share outings.
