This month, Doug Bell (preaction) will be giving a talk on the various ways to add logging and reporting to your Perl program. We'll start with adding reporting to small scripts with simple Perl built-ins such as warn (http://perldoc.perl.org/functions/warn.html) and core modules like Sys::Syslog (https://metacpan.org/pod/Sys::Syslog), then we'll discuss adding logging to larger systems with CPAN modules like Log::Any (https://metacpan.org/pod/Log::Any) (and show off some of the features of the most advanced Perl logging system, Log::Log4perl (http://mschilli.github.io/log4perl/)). Between all that, we'll discuss how to use your logs and how to decide what logging you need for your project.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Talk starts at 7:00. Food will be provided from Lou Malnati's (https://www.loumalnatis.com) by our host, ServerCentral (http://servercentral.com).
