Lunar New Year Celebration at Alice & Friends Vegan Kitchen!

Join us to celebrate Lunar New Year with us at Alice & Friends Vegan Kitchen! 

Lunar New Year is the first day of a secular, sacred, or other guise whose months are coordinated by the cycles of the moon. The whole year may account to a purely lunar calendar, which is not coordinated to a solar calendar (and, thus, may progress or retrogress through the solar year). It's broadly celebrated in most Asian countries (China, Korea, Vietnam, Tibet, etc.).

ChicagoVeg members were invited for the restaurant's Grand Re-Opening a year ago and we had a blast!
We are really excited about this year special dining at this only 100% vegan restaurant in Edgewater!

This time ChicagoVeg members are invited for this great opportunity to enjoy this 7 course dinner of $47 value for only $30 (see the details below).

Starter (Soy Free):
• Crunchy Sweet Potato (GF) - Toasted Pecan, Sweet Potato and Pomegranate. 

Salad (Soy Free, can be made nut free):
• Watercress Arugula Salad (GF) - Watercress, Arugula, Walnuts, Apples, Beets, House made Apple Vinegar Dressing 

Appetizer (Nut Free): Choice of  
• Butternut Squash Won Ton (soy free) - Butternut Squash, garlic, sage, olive oil and wheat flour wrap.


• Yaki Enoki Roll (GF) - Enoki mushroom, tofu and zucchini. 

(Nut Free):
• Herbal Soup (GF) - Chinese Herbs with Seasoned Tofu.

The root herbs-astragalus, codonopsis, and dioscorea-are classified by Chinese herbalists as qi tonics. They benefit digestion, aid absorption of nutrients, improve cardiac function, and enhance energy.

First Main Dish (Nut Free):  Choice of   
• Pesto Quinoa (GF)  - Organic quinoa, edamame, shiitake mushroom, broccoli, and radish.


• Spicy Stir-fried Soba Noodles - Buckwheat noodles, broccoli, shiitake mushroom, bokchoy, jalapeno.

Second Dish:  Choice of 
•  Malay's Kung Pao - Non-GMO soybean protein, red peppers, green peppers, onions, ginger, peanuts on top (can be nut free).


• Thai's Massaman's Curry (GF) - Non-GMO tofu, coconut milk, onion, peanuts, potatoes, sweet potatoes, bay leaves, cinnamon, chili, tamarind sauce and cashews on top.

• Red Bean Soup (GF) - Traditional and popular dessert in China, Japan, Korean and Vietnam. Our version is Cantonese style - organic red bean, tapioca, and coconut milk.

• Kinoko Mochi (GF) is a traditional Japanese dish that is traditionally made on New Year's Day for luck. (Soy free without Kinoko) - Roasted soy flour, glutinuous rice, red bean.

• Thai Iced Tea (GF) - House brewed Thai tea leaves with organic soy milk.

Everything is only $30 (tax and tips included) if pre-paid by calling to the restaurant at [masked] (during its working hours) at least 2 days before the event or $38 at the door.

ay refund policy: 100% refund if requested at least 48 hours before the event by calling the restaurant (in its working hours). No refund after that. 

RSVP policy:  Restaurant will be making food according the number of attendees we provide.  If you RSVP for the event you agree that you will be responsible for a payment regardless if you come or not unless you cancel your RSVP at least 48 hours before the event. Anyone who is still on the RSVP list and "no show" will be responsible for $30 per person (including the guests in the RSVP) payable within two weeks after the event.

Space is limited - You must RSVP to attend (regardless if you pre-pay or not).

    Thank you everyone who joined us to treat ourselves tonight! I have been at Loving Hut and and now Alice & Friends many times but have never had such a great variety of super tasty dishes. My most favorite was Yaki Enoki Roll and the least Red Bean Soup (I realize that it's a very popular Cantonese dessert to offer some traditional food taste for the dinner but I just report my personal perception).
    Please share your favorites as well so restaurant may possibly include them to their regular menu!

      Good question, Anna - Unfortunately, if someone on the Waitlist, they need to wait until someone cancel (which I am sure people will but hope they do it as early as possible so people on the Waitlist had enough time to pre-pay in advance ($30) instead of paying at the door ($38)). Only people on the RSVP list may call to pre-pay and tell the restaurant their meal option.
