Wonders of Nature: A Stewardship and Family Fun event

Details
BackYard Nature Center, a not-for-profit organization in the New Trier Township, connects children and adults with the wonders of nature. Creatively Caring, a local non-profit organization, promotes a spirit of community through hands-on service projects that help people, animals and the environment. Together, on March 30, 2011, both organizations will be working to help better connect families with the Skokie Lagoons (Forest Preserve District of Cook County). Daniel Kielson, Site Steward of the Skokie Lagoons, will be introducing the participants to the Lagoons and conducting a litter pick-up activity. Creatively Caring will then lead a fun "building a city in nature" activity that uses only what we can find in nature!
The event will last from 10:00am to noon. Families with children from pre-school through high school are welcome to participate. Please bring your own gloves and dress appropriately for the weather and activities. We will meet promptly at the parking lot on Tower Road, east of Edens Highway and west Forest Way Dr. Here is a map (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1740+Tower+Road,+Winnetka,+IL&aq=0&sll=42.115873,-87.77213&sspn=0.001763,0.003406&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=1740+Tower+Rd,+Winnetka,+Cook,+Illinois+60093&ll=42.1168,-87.771363&spn=0.007051,0.013626&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A).
