What we're about

Organized in 2018 by cardiologist, Dr Steven Lome, our focus is on the power of plant-based nutrition to help people live their best, healthiest lives, fighting the current epidemic of chronic disease. This group aims to afford people with a wide range of activities to learn and to support one another on their plant-based journey. Our activities include local group meetings, community education events, plant-based cooking classes, screening documentaries, host guest speakers, organize "jump starts", etc.

PBNM - A Delicious Adventure - June

Link visible for attendees

TOPIC: It’s summer and time to think about taking A Delicious Adventure (ADA) outside! Let’s talk about Picnics! Whether it’s a gourmet meal created for fine outdoor dining or a more humble affair enjoyed at a park we’ll share our favorite ways of enjoying the warmer weather while munching on whole plant-based foods. Perfect timing, too, for preparing for PBNM's Picnic/Potluck (info & registration here!)

To Register for one or more ADA (A Delicious Adventure) meeting, go to https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/a-delicious-adventure-support-meetings-423989 and select the meetings you'd like to attend. You will receive reminders through the Eventbrite system prior to the meetings with the Zoom link for the meeting.

We are all on an adventure, one designed with healthy longevity in mind. Like most adventures, they're more enjoyable when shared. And we want to share this one with you!

Please mark your calendars for the FOURTH TUESDAY of each month, 7:00pm CST!

Each month we'll be meeting to share experiences, healthy recipes, conversations, cooking demos, and, let's not forget, FUN! Our objective is optimal health and the ways we each can make all the difference in achieving that goal ourselves.

We invite you to watch this quick, 1 minute video. It rather embodies the "pick your adventure" notion:

PBNM Picnic/Potluck - Wood Dale Grove Forest Preserve

## Mark your calendars now!!!

To say we've missed everyone is an understatement! But we're finally getting together again in an absolutely beautiful setting! If you've not been to Wood Dale Grove Forest Preserve, you're in for a treat! There's a shelter, and plenty of picnic tables (appx 8' wide...so lots of seating!) We even have a large grill to use! We're preparing tasty carrot dogs with lots of "fixins" for just a small donation.

The site overlooks a lake, and there are plenty of trees around as well. We've placed our order for a warm, sunny day, (fingers crossed) but we plan to gather, rain or shine! For a quick tour of the site, check out this quick video.

We are planning some activities...this is a family-friendly event, so kids are welcome. Just be aware that the site is very close to the lake, so parents should be extra aware of where their kids are all the time!
We will provide things like plates, cups, napkins, eating and serving utensils, and water. We ask that everyone bring a dish to share and the recipe/ingredients used (in case some have allergies or sensitivities). If you need suggestions, visit the recipe-sites page on our website. You'll find plenty of great ideas! Some simple suggestions might be things like chilis, pastas, burrito-bowls, taco-salads, stir-frys, soups, pasta salads, finger foods, snacks, etc.

DON'T FRET! If you're new to plant-based eating or are just "plant-curious", keep it simple! A tray of fruit and/or veggie chunks with hummus or guacamole is right up our alley! And by all means, BRING A FRIEND! Help us spread the word ... and the GREAT FOOD! It's good for our health and that of our planet, not to mention good for the animals!
