Talk: Two Conversations on Product Design and Development

Join us for our next ChickTech NY event and hear two incredible talks on product design and development:

1. Designing for Non-Humans: the Process of Toy and Play Design at BARK.

Katie Lim, Director of Industrial Design at BARK, will walk through how toys are designed for over 700k dogs in the box subscription business. She’ll provide insights to the extreme combinations of timelines, strategies, research, storytelling, and design processes that she has to balance in order to design meaningful toys for dogs and their parents.

Ediuska Laurens, entrepreneur, innovator, two-time patent holder, and Founder of Genius Shield, will present a case study of the product development of the Pediatric Mandibular Distractor from concept to global commercialization.

Katie Lim is Director of Industrial Design at BARK, the world's most dog-obsessed company, where she helps push innovation, aesthetic and play in the pet industry. Katie leads the design team for BARK’s subscription business Super Chewer, for dogs who take playtime seriously.

As part of BARK's in-house design team, Katie oversees branding, product development, and the prototyping and design process for Super Chewer. She loves seeking out new opportunities and strategies for Super Chewer, while coming up with never-before-seen products and innovative uses for new materials.
