Details

• What we'll do
(1) What should I bring?

Please bring your own laptop, and ensure it is at least a 13in screen.

(Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that a TA can help you if you run into issues with trying to code on a tablet/smaller screen.)

(2) Is there something I should install for this class?

All you need is some kind of code editor. An easy one to use is repl.it (https://repl.it/languages), which has versions for both OSX and Windows.

If you are having trouble downloading Repl.it due to admin privileges on a Windows laptop, you can use Notepad++ which is a built-in Microsoft Windows code editor.

If you don't download one before class, we will walk you through that during class.

(3) What will this workshop cover?

Check out our GitHub repo (https://github.com/She-Codes-Now/Intro-to-Ruby). It contains all info and files needed for the class.

We will be going over basics and once we have those freshly placed in our minds, we'll create something that you will take with you as a "trophy" of your success.

(4) What level of experience do I need to get the most of this workshop?

You don't need to have any coding experience. :-) This is a Introductory class that will guide you through all you need to know. (5) What floor and room is this in?

It will be in Room 910 in 9th floor. There will be someone in the lobby to help everyone get on the elevator onto 9th floor.

(6) Do you have a website?

Yes, you can visit us at www.shecodesnow.com (http://shecodesnow.com), which also links directly to our Meetup events & open source class materials on GitHub (https://github.com/She-Codes-Now).
