About us
The Chiltern Young Walkers are a friendly and sociable walking group aimed at people in their 20s, 30s, a little beyond and run by volunteers. We love to discover new places and share the stunning views we know with others through walks every weekend. From leisurely 5 miles strolls to strenuous 15+ mile hikes in the Chiltern Hills of Buckinghamshire and West Hertfordshire, often within 30 minutes from Aylesbury, Hemel Hempstead or High Wycombe. Join us to exercise in the countryside, expand your social scene, explore the fantastic scenery on your doorstep or further afield and have fun, we look forward to seeing you soon!

We are part of and funded by the Ramblers, Britain's biggest and most vibrant walking community and a charity working to open the way for everyone to enjoy the simple pleasures of walking. We step up to protect the places we all love to wander. You are free to enjoy three different events before you decide to join us as a full member.
Make new friends
We are over 150 people from their 20s, 30s and a little beyond who enjoy walking and socialising. Most of our walks end at the pub, a great way to get to know fellow members. You will see familiar faces and often meet new people each time you come. Along with our walks, we have an active socials programme with regular pub nights and other social events.
Weekends Away
We explore the UK with occasional weekends away including seaside trips, long-distance trails and mountain hikes. We organise some weekend trips within easy reach of the Chilterns, without the need to take time off work, recent examples include the Cotswolds and the South Downs. Some trips to places such as the Peak District, the Lake District, Wales, or the Scottish Highlands offer more challenging mountainous walking in spectacular scenery.

Princes Risborough, Bledlow Lions and Hidden Garden Hike
The Mount, London, GBLeisurely 7.7 miles / 12.1 km circular walk
Ascent 200m / 656ft
Led By: Paul R
phone: 07974 696 802The first of two walks today from the same starting point, giving you the flexibility of joining us for either two shorter walks or combining both for a longer day of hiking. This morning’s walk is the longer but less hilly of the two, taking us through the village of Horsenden before we join the Ridgeway and head across gently undulating open countryside, farmland and a golf course on our way towards Lodge Hill.
From there we continue along the Icknield Way through woodland and into Bledlow. We pass the Lions of Bledlow pub and pause for lunch on the green in front of it. The final couple of miles return through farmland, with views of Whiteleaf Hill for those staying on for the afternoon walk. We finish back in Princes Risborough, where you can leave us here or continue on for the second walk.Starting point

Princes Risborough and Whiteleaf Workout Walk
The Mount, London, GBModerate 4.9 miles / 7.9 km circular walk | 228m ascent - with a steep hill
Led by: Paul R
Telephone: 07974 696 802This is the second of two walks from Princes Risborough today, so come for either half or combine them for a longer day out. We finish with a proper workout: a steep climb up Whiteleaf Hill, passing the white cross cut into its slope and skirting Brush Hill nature reserve, with views reaching all the way to Didcot on a clear day.
From the top we drop back down through Chiltern beech woodland to The Plough at Cadsden, one of the country's best-known pubs after a former Prime Minister famously left his daughter behind there, for a well-earned drink. Unlike him, we'll make sure everyone's accounted for before we set off again. From there we continue on to Pulpit Hill nature reserve before returning to Princes Risborough along the Ridgeway, with beech woods, open hillside, and wide Chiltern views throughout.Starting point
