Future of Compute - Quantum Computing

SPEAKER :

Jeewika Ranaweera is a principal hardware engineer at Oracle. She received her Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering from ISPJAE in Havana, Cuba; and her Master’s and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the University of Toronto, Canada. She is a member of the Oracle Semiconductor Engineering team that focuses on high-speed microprocessors. She is an IEEE Senior Member, an ABET program evaluator for IEEE, a steering committee member for IEEE Future Directions and Digital Reality Initiative, and a Sustainability Champion at Oracle.
Jeewika authored an eBook about her engineering journey for IEEE Women in Engineering to inspire others to follow STEM careers and illustrated the 1stchildren’s book published by IEEE. Recently she shared her unique insight via a podcast on numerous areas where immersive technologies can benefit humanity. Her passion for quantum computing has given her the opportunity to speak at the Drive World Conference and to do a webcast on “Harnessing the power of quantum computing to solve the unsolvable” to Oracle technical employees worldwide. Prior to that, she was a panelist at the AWE conference, a panelist on “Women making the Future” at the IEEE TTM, a speaker at the Grace Hopper Conference on “High Performance Computing and Engineering track”, a panelist at the 2017 IEEE Women in Computing Summit’s Innovation Panel on “How to stay ahead of the curve in technology”, and a speaker at the FB Developer Circle on “The impact of 5G, AI, and Blockchain on the way we live”.
She has authored and co-authored many papers published in technical journals, or presented at international conferences. Jeewika holds four US Patents and one pending.
