This group gets together to hike on and do work projects on the North Country Trail within the Paul Bunyan State Forest and Chippewa National Forest. If you like to hike (or snowshoe, XC ski, or backpack) in the Chippewa National Forest, then you should join.
Presented by the North Country Trail Association's Kekekabic and Star of the North Chapters, Steve Schreader and Eli Nord will share about their "Ode 2 MN" adventure using only Minnesota-made gear during the summer of 2018. Their 43-day, 1,100-mile trip involved biking from St. Paul to International Falls, canoeing through Voyageurs National Park and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to Grand Portage State Park, backpacking from Grand Portage State Park to Jay Cooke State Park via the Superior Hiking Trail, and then finally biking back to St. Paul via the Willard Munger State Trail. Steve (Midwest Mountaineering) and Eli (Northstar Canoes) will entertain you with stories, photos and videos from their adventure!
