What we're about

This group is for anyone interested in putting in time and effort to learn to read, write, and speak the Klingon Language. It is a real language and not just a code for English, so it takes time and effort to learn it. However, the Klingon speaking community is full of some of the smartest and most open minded people you will meet. Come check us out and see what you think!

The Klingon Dictionary by Dr. Marc Okrand is an essential tool for learning the Klingon language. However, it is very difficult to learn to read, write, and speak the language without others to help. It turns out that there are a few people in the Chicago area who can speak some Klingon and a lot of people in the Chicago area who wish they could learn to speak Klingon. Now we have started to find each other and we are creating opportunities to meet together and help each other.

We have speakers of all levels and are particularly conscious of making sure that the beginners can participate in all our activities and meetups. There will also be opportunities to hear advanced speakers hold complete conversations in this invented language - and it is a wonder to behold.
