Ferry Indians - our favourite curry house
Everyone is in hibernation mode with the winter but let's have a nice warming curry. We all know how good the menu is but if you haven't been before take a look. https://www.ferryindians.co.nz/menu

What we're about

Have a passion for food and fun? Want to get around the city's eateries and make new friends? You've come to the right place!

We are a very active group, where the social aspect is just as important as the food. But what a great way to make friends, just sitting eating, chatting and enjoying a glass of wine, or 2.

Events vary throughout the year. Although most events are at a variety of restaurants, we also have potluck meals (bring a plate), picnics (especially at summertime events), and visits to food trucks, markets, and festivals. There's often a drinks-and-nibbles event somewhere on a Sunday afternoon.

Please note that because we do make bookings at restaurants, and the venue is then dependent on us turning up, we do insist that you keep your RSVP up-to-date and let us know well in advance if you can no longer attend. Life happens, and we get that; just be courteous and change your RSVP in a timely manner so we can either change the reservation numbers or give someone on the waitlist a chance to attend.

All ages are welcome. The majority of regular attendees tend to be 40+, but we're young-at-heart and have a variety of interests (not all of them food-related!). Membership includes people who have 'always' lived in Christchurch, but also a large number of blow-ins from all corners of the world; we can resemble the United Nations most outings! Couples are also welcome, just come along and join in the group.

And remember, we all started as newbies. All of us remember how difficult it can be to show up for that first Meetup with a group of strangers. We took that first step, and have formed real friendships. Checking out the website is a first step - now take the next step!

There is no 'typical' venue; look through past Meetups to get an idea of where we go, but really, we are open to going anywhere - and welcome your input. The social aspect is a big part of the group, and the best way to take part is to just jump right in. Come to a few Meetups and get to know the regulars. We almost always have a couple newbies on most events, and we'll do our best to make sure you feel welcome.
