Teach, Share and discuss Christian Leadership principles among like minded individuals. This meetup will focus Biblical examples of Christian Leadership, using such material as John Maxwell's 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader, and The John Maxwell Bible. Daily encouragement will be suggested by referring to, and discussing A. W. Tozer's daily devotion on Christian Leadership. I also envision having sessions around some of the sessions presented at the Willow Creek Leadership Summit over the years.

The reason why I feel God put this on my heart to start this group is when I bought the Maxwell Leadership Bible, I was very taken aback by what John Maxwell wrote in his introduction to his book. I have reproduced those words in this groups first discussion. Please refer to it, and see if it also stirs something in you, like it stirred something in me.

Two years ago, while attending the Willow Creek Leadership Summit, Bill Hybels re-emphasized a saying that he first said in the mid 1990s. "The Local Church is the Hope of the World." In the second discussion, I have posted some notes from Bill's closing session at the 2012 Leadership Summit where he once again talked about The Hope of the World.

Then in 2002, Bill wrote "Courageous Leadership" and included his personal words about this truth; "There is nothing like the local church when it'w working right. Its beauty is indescribable. Its pow is breathtaking. Its potential is unlimited. It comforts the grieving and heals the broken in the context of community. It builds bridges to seekers and opens its arms to the forgotten, the downtrodden, and the disillusioned. It breaks the chains of addictions, frees the oppressed, and offers belonging to the marginalized for his world The potential of the local church is almost more than I can grasp."

As Maxwell points out in his introduction "The most critical problem facing the church today is the leadership vacuum that grew during the Twentieth Century. Church expert and statistician George Barna asserts, "Leadership remains one of the glaring needs of the church."

It is my prayer, this this MeetUp will be a means where we can all grow as strong Christian Leaders, so that the Local Church can truly become the Hope of the World!

Who else wants to come along for this ride?

The frequency of meetings, along with an outline of meeting content is currently being developed. It is intended that this MeetUp will Launch in January 2014.

The location of the meetings will be Batavia, IL. I have a small, but very technological enable conference room. It is my hope and vision that we will be able to use technology to enable us to reach out to many, both close and far.

During the different MeetUps, I am looking forward to having others set up to lead, and share their Leadership experiences with others. Please let me know if you are interested.

This MeetUp is aimed at anyone who wants to learn about, develop and strengthen their Leadership skills, and learn how these skills are applied from a biblical perspective.

We all have opportunities to be a leader, whether or not your are titled as such.

Please join us and allow yourself to be the skilled leader He has uniquely created you to be.
