What we're about

This is a friendship group for Christian singles between 40 and 60.

Generally when we are not in lockdown we meet at least once a month for food, drink and chat. We’ve organised films, meals out and days out. Members organise events too - let me know if you have any ideas.

Open to all Christians irrespective of denomination and whether or not you currently attend church. We all have slightly different beliefs and no one will be telling another that they are 'wrong'.

Welcome!

The cost of the meetup group is shared by the members with a very small monthly subscription.

Please like our Facebook page as it’s a good way of publicising the group.

This is a friendly group, come and just chat to the person next to you. It’s a way of us meeting new people. And let your Christian friends know about the group too to help us grow.

Day trip to Lichfield - 2 July

Location visible to members

Day out in Lichfield!

If you say you are coming but then can’t come please change your RSVP so someone else can come. (More than 2 no-shows and unfortunately we will remove you) - thank you in advance

Here is a brief itinerary:
For those of you who will be travelling to Lichfield with Chrissy; we’ll meet at Birmingham New Street Train Station at 09:25 am – outside the ticket office. We’ll then purchase our return tickets to Lichfield City. We’ll catch the 09:55 am train into Lichfield, which should get us into Lichfield for 10:32 am.
2) For those making their own way there, please meet us at Lichfield City Train Station at 10:32.
3) Lichfield Cathedral do 2 Highlight Tours on a Saturday – 1100 hours and 1400 hours. If everyone turns up on time, we should be able to make it to the Cathedral to join the 1100 hours guided tour. If we don’t get to the Cathedral in time, I suppose we can do the tour ourselves.
4) There’s a gift shop and café inside the Cathedral, so we’ll have the option to treat ourselves to a coffee and cake if anyone fancies doing that.
5) After the tour and refreshments, maybe we could go for a gentle stroll along the river.
6) From there we can head over to the Acorn wetherspoon pub for lunch.
7) After lunch we have the option to make our way over to the Guild Hall to have a look around the Craft Fair if it’s on.
8) After the Craft Fair and maybe a wander around the shops, we shall make our way back to the train Station to catch the 18:13 hours train back to Birmingham New Street. This is just a brief idea of what we should do, but everyone is welcome to join the group itinerary, or can ‘dip in’ and ‘out’ as you wish.

Thank you to those who are contributing to the costs of running this meetup. Requested donation 50p per month or occasional larger amount.
