The shorts program begins at 4 p.m. with the Live Action Nominees. Yes, many people will be at work then, however the films will continue with the Animated Nominees starting at about 6:30 p.m.

Advantage – Shorts – arrive when you can and you’ll never be late. And, at $10 advance purchase, you’ll be guaranteed a seat.

After, at around 8 p.m. we’ll head to dinner.

Asad, 18 minutes - A coming of age fable of a Somali boy as he struggles to survive in his war-torn land.

Buzkashi Boys, 28 minutes - Set against the dramatic landscape of contemporary Afghanistan and the National sport of Buzkashi - a brutal game of horse polo played with a dead goat - Buzkashi Boys tells the coming of age story of two best friends, a charismatic street urchin and a defiant blacksmith's son, who struggle to realize their dreams as they make their way to manhood in one of the most war-torn countries on Earth. Shot on location in Kabul city by an alliance of Afghan and international film makers, Buzkashi Boys is a look at the life that continues beyond the headlines of war in Afghanistan.

Curfew, 19 minutes - At the lowest point of his life, Richie gets a call from his estranged sister, asking him to look after his nine-year old niece, Sophia, for a few hours.

Death of a Shadow (Dood van een Schaduw), 20 minutes - Soldier Nathan died during World War I. A strange collector imprisoned his shadow and gave him a new chance: a second life against 10000 captured shadows. It is love that guides him, as his purpose is to meet Sarah again, the woman he fell in love with before he died. But then he discovers that she's already in love with someone else, jealousy clouds his mind and pushes him towards a bitter decision, not without consequences.
Henry, 21 minutes - Henry, an elderly concert pianist, undergoes a series of confusing experiences as he searches for his wife.

Paperman, 7 minutes - An urban office worker finds that paper airplanes are instrumental in meeting a girl in ways he never expected.

Fresh Guacamole, 2 minutes - Transforming familiar objects into fresh guacamole.

Adam and Dog, 15 minutes - Adam, and a dog, in the Garden of Eden.

Maggie Simpson 'The Longest Daycare', 4 ½ minutes - Marge Simpson drops off Maggie at the Ayn Rand School for Tots, where she goes through a very complicated security system. Then a guard carries her past the "Room for Gifted Babies" and puts her in the "Nothing Special" dreary corner instead. The playtime items are either taken away or eaten by the other babies.

Head Over Heels, 10 ½ minutes - Head Over Heels is a look into the married lives of elderly couple Walter and Madge, who have been married for years and have been living in parallel, separate worlds.
