Cinetopia Edinburgh Cineclub is a local film society offering a platform to share and talk about films in an informal setting with the purpose of fostering all kinds of discussion about film as well as network with other local filmmakers and film lovers of all kinds.
All of our screenings are managed by us, and they vary in size, from larger screenings of films such as "Quotable Classics" at Leith Theatre to smaller, more intimate screenings of documentaries and independent films at the Edinburgh Film Guild.
As a volunteer-led film society, we welcome suggestions and opportunities to screen what our community wants to screen, so always feel free to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org to request or suggest films that you'd like to see us screen, and if we can, we will!
The team behind Cinetopia Cineclub also runs a film-based podcast on http://www.ehfm.live where we review current films in the theatres around Edinburgh as well as interview other film-makers and film organisations around town. You can check out our past epsidodes on our website here: http://cinetopiashow.com/cinetopia_podcast
Cinetopia in partnership with Leith Theatre are celebrating Pride Month at June's Cinema Nights with the movie PRIDE!
A British film released in 2014, described by Time Out as "the holy grail for filmmakers: to tell a story with something to say about our world that is also shamelessly entertaining, moving and funny."
PRIDE is a historical com-dram based on the true story of a group of gay and lesbian activists who raised money to help the families affected by the 1984 British Miners strike.
This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and we will be showing a beautiful short film documenting these events during the evening!
Pride is Rated 15 for language and brief sexual content. 15+ entry allowed but all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Bar open for 6:30pm. Doors open from 7:00pm. Show time 7:30pm. 1 intermission.
