What we're about

Welcome to the Circa Theatre Meetup Group! We've been organising events for theatre enthusiasts since 2010. We are a fun, theatre-loving group from all over Wellington. For each event we often have a number of new attendees as well as those who attend more regularly.

Once you are a member of the Circa Theatre Meetup Group, you can RSVP for any of the events posted. Sometimes we attend the opening night of a new play and then go to the after party, other times we meet for drinks beforehand, and we often get a chance to speak to the cast or directors.

How booking a ticket works:

Event Hosts reserve a section of seating for Meetup members. Attendees then must call the box office to pay for their required seats.

To ensure you get the Circa Theatre Meetup group discount and seating with the group, you have to call the box office on 04 801 7992 to pay for your ticket after RSVPing to the event on Meetup.

You will have to provide your full name and contact phone number the first time a ticket is booked to add into the Circa Theatre Ticket Database. It helps to have your surname on your Meetup profile so we can match you from the RSVP list and the ticket database.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at marketing@circa.co.nz, or message the organiser Tanya Piejus.

Cheers,
The Circa Theatre crew and organiser Tanya Piejus

Seats are reserved for our group in advance, so please don't buy tickets separately. You can't pay for meetup tickets online.

Payments must be received by 9 pm on Wednesday 3 November, otherwise your reserved seat will be released for general sale. If the performance sells out before then, your seat is not guaranteed if you haven't paid for your ticket.

Two tragicomedies by acclaimed writer/performers Jonny Potts and Jean Sergent weave a journey of love and loss in Wellington. A guided tour of the capital’s video shops, The Best Show in Town is at Your Place Every Night chases ghosts of our recent past over bright hills and into lost valleys.

Change Your Own Life is a cosmic comedic journey of surviving and thriving through grief, chance, and self-sabotage.

Together, these complementary and sometimes contradictory pieces make for a unique evening of theatre. Live Through This reflects what it has meant to live in this city through times of immense cultural and personal upheaval.

‘I’ve never seen Jean give anything less than a powerhouse performance’ — Pantograph Punch

‘Potts is at once charming and slightly mysterious… he is a master craftsman’ — Theatreview
