Holiday Walk in Harpers Ferry

Holiday Hike in Harpers Ferry. This historic hike is along the Murphy Farm House Trail, Appalachian Trail, and the C&O Canal near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. We’ll hike along these historic paths and through town for the annual Harpers Ferry holiday walk. A visit to the Appalachian Trail headquarters for an open house featuring snacks and views of the world’s longest trail is at the end. Learn more about hiking the trail, its history and other nearby outdoor activities. This is an easy level 5-6 mile hike.

Directions:

Take the Washington Beltway to Rte 270 or if coming from Baltimore take rte 70 west towards Frederick

From Maryland Route 270, go north to Route 70 past Frederick, MD.
Take 70 West to US 340 After the flashing light at Valley road continue on rte 340 and go over the Potomac River Continue to the Harpers Ferry Park Entrance.
We will meet at the Harpers Ferry Visitor Visitor's Center

There is an $10 per car parking fee, or FREE if you have a National Park Pass
