What we're about

Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) is a grass roots national organization -- with chapters across the country, including Milpitas/Fremont -- that is focused on and dedicated to curtailing climate change. CCL's goal is to get the U.S. Congress to pass legislation imposing a carbon fee on fossil fuels with the proceeds to be returned to U.S. households as a dividend. Our Bill is currently in the House as HR763. The Silicon Valley East chapter works toward this goal by having volunteers write Letters to the Editor and Op-Ed pieces in local newspapers and by lobbying local members of Congress, by e-mail, letters and in-person meetings. We usually meet on the second Saturday of the month to exchange ideas and plan strategy on how to meet our goal. If you want to help curtail climate change for this and future generations, please join us at one of our next meetings and learn how you can help.

New volunteers can find a step-by-step orientation guide here: https://community.citizensclimate.org/new-volunteer. If you live in or near Fremont, Newark, and Milpitas, then you can already check off "find your local chapter" -- that's us!
