Free Beginner's Hands-on Arduino Workshop for Learning Basic Electronics
Details
Intro to Electronics via Arduino Nano, Buzzers, LED's, Touch and Infrared Sensors
Join us for a hands-on intro to basic electronics using Arduino. Each participant who brings a laptop will be able to work with an Arduino kit to create a basic music-playing project with sensor buttons and mini speakers. Depending on time available, more sensors, lights and other components may be set up.
Some other possibilities may be hooking up a proximity sensor to play sounds based on human movement, knobs to control the volume of sounds or led light - or generally mixing and matching sensors and output devices.
Please bring a laptop with you to the event to hook up to the electronics kit that we will be working with.
Please download and install the Arduino IDE prior to the event: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software
The CH340/341 USB/Serial adapter driver is also required in order to use the Arduino Nano kit during the workshop linked below:
Mac users can install the driver from:http://www.wch.cn/download/CH341SER_MAC_ZIP.html (http://blog.sengotta.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/CH341SER_MAC-1.4.zip)
Windows users can install the driver from: http://www.wch.cn/download/CH341SER_ZIP.html
Recent Linux OS versions have the drivers built in.

Optional Materials Fee: The workshop is free. Please bring a laptop to connect to the electronics kit. Arduino kits that we work on in class can be taken home for $20.
