Join us on an adventure through Sedona’s incredible scenery and iconic red-rock formations.We will be chasing the best light through Sedona’s rock formations, high mesas, cliffs and domes. Some highlights will be photographing Slide Rock State Park, Red Rock Crossing, Oak Creek, Cathedral Rock and Airport Mesa as well as many off the beaten path locations. Sedona can be called a magical place because of the feeling you get when you see it’s beauty. We hope to connect your mind, body and creativity with nature and create some unforgettable experiences. WHAT IS INCLUDED: 2 Professional landscape photographers guidance and location expertise In the field instruction on mastering photography skills Transportation during the Workshop WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED Airfare Car rental / Shuttle to and from Sedona ($55 each way) Hotel accommodation - ( A code will be given upon signing for the recommended hotel) Meals WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT: Our days will consist of sunrise hikes through the canyons to photographing the stars rising over redrocks. This photography workshop adventure is designed to give all participants the opportunity to shoot and capture some of the most amazing landscapes and places in the country. We will guide you through different photography techniques, camera settings and how to use filters to properly expose your shots. We will also spend a good amount of time on photo composition and developing your own style so your photos will tell your story to the viewer. Group size will be kept small (approx. 12 participants) to afford each participant one-on-one instruction both in the field and in the classroom for post editing. WHAT SHOULD I BRING: Upon signing up we will send everyone a detailed equipment and material list. The basic gear everyone should have is a digital SLR camera body, tripod and a variety of lens. Laptops are recommend to help you fully learn to edit on your own system. We will be outside doing some walking/hiking for a good part of the trip. It is advised for you to dress in layers and with proper footwear. Temperatures and conditions can change rapidly so it is best to be prepared. LOCATION: This workshop is based in Sedona, AZ, a desert town near flagstaff that is surrounded by fiery red-rock buttes, steep canyons and pine forests. Because of it’s high desert elevation it has a mild climate and September is the end of Monsoon Season which will bring fast moving storms that will create beautiful skies and hopefully rainbows. Sedona’s unique combination of small resort town hospitality, beautiful scenery and the stunning red rock landscape has it one of the most photogenic spots in the American Southwest. Sedona is also know for it’s numerous New Age "vortexes" with supposed spirit-balancing powers found here. So come find balance, learn and create. We have secured a block of rooms at a local hotel in Blue Nose Inn Once you have registered, you will receive a code that you can use to reserve one of the group rooms.
