CivicTechWR Hacknight #54: Project Time

Details

We're working on a few different things right now:

  • Land Use Transparency (zoning change request scraper, etc.)
  • Digital Storytelling
  • Photography Database with Vintage Black Canada

Other project ideas are welcome!

What's a CivicTechWR Hacknight?
We meet every 2 weeks, usually alternating between speaker sessions and working sessions. At our speaker sessions, we host a leader from the community to speak to the group. This could be someone from a local non-profit, from government, from industry, or any citizen - what matters is that they have something to discuss with our group, something to teach us, or something to inspire us. During both our speaker sessions and our hacknights, we provide space and time for people to work together on civic tech projects. This event is one of those project-only hacknights.

What to bring:
Your ideas, your skills, a collaborative spirit & a laptop if you plan to code. Snacks are always welcome, too.

What is CivicTechWR?
CivicTechWR brings together people from different sectors and industries to actively solve issues facing our local community. We welcome people with all types and levels of skills. Even though "tech" is in the name, everyone is welcome and everyone has a skill or experience that is valuable. We're here to empower people to work together, exchange ideas and tools to improve the lives of the residents in and around Waterloo Region through civic technology.
