Please welcome - DDD.

• What we'll do
More than a decade ago, an exciting and powerful software development practice had emerged - Domain Driven Design (DDD). These days, with the rise of micro-services and serverless architectures, DDD is becoming more relevant than ever before.
At this meeting, we will have two interesting lectures about DDD:
- DDD - A gentle introduction into challenging topic, by Asher Sterkin *
Domain-Driven Design is a very powerful and popular software development practice focused on addressing real and most challenging business problems. Popularized by Netflix it's also today the leading approach to developing microservices and cloud-native architecture. This presentation provides a very lightweight introduction into main concepts of Domain-Driven Design. Although you might not be able yet to practice it but will hopefully get a clear understanding of what is it about.
About Asher:
Asher Sterkin is an experienced software technologist/architect currently serving as CTO at IRKI (privately held company in fashion industry) and providing a C-level mentoring to startups. He is also an active member of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) Israel Meetup group targeted to facilitate increasing awareness about DDD and to help active practitioners with addressing real life problems. Before that Asher was working as Distinguished Engineer at Cisco Engineering office of CTO and VP of Technology at NDS (acquired by Cisco in 2012).
- Microservices: Splitting the Monolith the DDD Way *, by Erik Ashepa
In this talk Erik will try to show you how DDD can help us solve some of the hardest challenges in architecting a micro-services eco-system:
- Making sure that things which change for same reason are co-located inside the same microservice.
- Elegant and efficient event driven integration of microservices
About Erik:
A Mamram honor graduate with 10 years of experience in software development, project management and architecture with a proven record of leading product development in startup and enterprise companies.
Currently R&D Group Manager @ Fiverr.
