Smart Technology for Sustainability
Details
If this is your first Cleanweb event welcome to our community.
Cleanweb is the use of digital technology to address environmental challenges, resource constraints, and tackling climate change.
We will be looking at how smart technologies are powering the future with smart homes and smart fishing!
Here are our line up of speakers:
Denis Wittich, Technical Director
Powervault (http://www.powervault.co.uk/) - the UK’s first Smart Home Battery, is leading the way in the development of this exciting new “Internet of Things” product to power the Smart Home, reducing electricity bills by up to 35%. Powervault stores low cost electricity from solar panels or the national grid, and releases this stored energy at peak times.
Powervault just announced their partnership with Renault (https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/used-car-batteries-will-power-homes-37xhhgv90) to pilot their novel second life energy storage product, meaning electric car batteries can now be reused to power homes.
Powervault is raising £750k on crowdcube now (https://www.crowdcube.com/companies/powervault-1/pitches/bAxVmZ)
Dan Watson, CEO and Founder
SafetyNet Technologies (http://sntech.co.uk/) - SafetyNet Technologies designs, builds, and tests light emitting devices that fishermen can retrofit to any commercial fishing gear to attract the fish they mean to catch and repel the fish they don’t want to catch, helping them achieve by-catch reductions of up to 90%.
SafetyNet is crowdfunding on Indiegogo now (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/pisces-the-light-which-reduces-fish-bycatch-environment)
