Our unique non-sectarian eco-meditation group offers walking, listening, and breathing meditation, with aspirational prayers for all beings and Mother Earth. We will be meeting at a beautiful forest in the heart of Central Connecticut, under the guidance of Buddhist teacher, Reverend Daishin (Glenn) Senpai. Engaging with mindfulness practices, you will be able to feel the interconnectedness of nature through the magical presence of the forest: the singing of the birds, the scurrying of squirrels and chipmunks, the croaking of frogs, the life force of the trees, and the silence of the whispering breeze.
Since our group is non-denominational, and meditation is a human practice rather than a religious one, this group is open to anyone interested in practicing mindfulness in an enchanting forest with other like-minded people. Open to all: meditators and non-meditators, Buddhists, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Non-religious, and everyone else.
About Getting There and Parking
Use GPS or a map to guide you to Wintergreen Woods, at 670 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield, CT, which is located behind Wethersfield High School. There is plenty of free parking at the parking lot. We will gather between the tire swing and picnic table at 10 a.m. next to the parking area.
About the Location
Wintergreen Woods is a quiet 110-acre open space park in Wethersfield, Connecticut, with well-maintained woodland paths, a lovely pond, and wooden bridges.
About the Trail
It’s a very well-maintained, easy, flat, low obstacle path that will take between 30 to 45 minutes at a slow meditative walk. Please be mindful of tree roots, poison ivy flanking a few portions of the path, and possible muddy patches after the rain.
About Dogs, Children and Other Distractions
Due to the introspective, meditative, and silent nature of this practice, dogs, other pets, small children, and other distractions such as smoking and eating, are not permitted of this activity.Donation
A suggested $10 - $15 donation per attendee (cash or check) is requested at the beginning of the practice in order to support community programs and internet expenses. Thank you in advance for your support.
