Clearwater Writers Meet-Up
We meet at my home every other Tuesday, from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. (near Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater.) Directions are sent via e-mail to attendees the day before the meet-up. There is no charge for membership or for attending meet-ups, however, participating members are asked to drop in a few dollars into the contributions jar to help defray costs associated with sponsoring this meet-up. The first half-hour of our meet-up is devoted to talking about topics of interest to writers of all genres, such as: • Hot websites/blogs • Interesting articles/books we read about the writing process • Leads for agents, publishers, editors, cover designers, etc. • Personal accomplishments. The rest of the evening is devoted to critiques. Attendees read from their work for up to 10 minutes and then receive verbal comments/critiques from the rest of the group. Members who attended the previous meet-up & who can be present for the entire meet-up (7-10), are first to read. Members usually supply printed copies of their work to other attendees, so they can follow-along and provide written comments/critique of the work sample as well. All copies are returned to the writer. Hope you can join us! P.S. - If you aren't able to participate on a regular basis, you are welcome to join our closed Facebook Group, where you can find helpful writing advice, let other members know what you're working on, and/or post questions to members of the group. Just search Facebook for: Clearwater Writers Meet-up Critique Group and ask to join. A monitor will check your meet-up status and admit you to the group!
