Title of Talk:
From Message to Cluster - A Realworld Introduction to Kafka Capacity Planning.

Abstract:
We thought you hadn’t suffered enough of the Englishman so here you are. Over the years the Kafka ecosystem has expanded and brought in new features. What’s rarely talked about is the planning, the considerations and the thought process of how messages are going to be produced, consumed and transformed, and the implications that can have on the cluster at large and the applications connecting to it. In this session Jason takes a single message and expands on his thought process on how to plan the capacity of a cluster, broker considerations and additional things to keep in mind when introducing other components like Connect, KSQL and Replicator. Expect bad jokes, as usual heckling is perfectly accepted.

Bio:
Jason Bell is a Kafka Devops Engineer for Digitalis, he is also author of the Wiley published book, "Machine Learning: Hands on for Developers and Technical Professionals", which is now in its second edition. You can follow him (at your own peril) on Twitter: @jasonbelldata
