Using SEO keyword research to generate product ideas

When discussing new product validation, most lean startup advice starts with finding potential users and crafting surveys.  What if you could save time by harvesting existing data about users' natural wants and desires?  For some markets, you can do exactly that by using the Google Adwords Keyword Planner to measure how often users search for what you might build.  It's a popular technique in content marketing that can also be applied to product development.  Kevin Day will present a real world case study based on a high traffic fantasy football website to show how SEO keyword research can help you decide which products to build.

Kevin Day is a lead software developer at SparkBase and an entrepreneur focused on the fantasy sports industry.  He's worked at several Cleveland startups, and uses lean startup principles whenever he needs to build a new product.

Thanks Kevin, I did end up finding it later that day. I am beginning my accent into Adwords for my business. So, after the feedback at the meeting, are you considering making any moves with your fantasy site? I would love to get involved in that project if your looking to build a team. I'm not looking for a job but I'm always willing to give everything I have to help someone succeed. You have my card, I have many contacts in the investment world and many attributes to contribute. Definitely open to having lunch to see if there's an opportunity to collaborate on something or toss around ideas.

Excellent meeting! I do have a follow up question though. What SEO tool was he using in the example?
