This will be a hands-on workshop. We are the "Acme" software company and we think there is value in creating an app, "Where's the Bus?" On the right-hand side of the map is the Customer: Job, Pains and Gains. We will have two personas: the bus riders (end user) - but more importantly the bus owners (buyer). That dynamic alone makes it more interesting to do the canvas. Then we decide on our product, pain relievers and gain creators. We will break into groups, each creating on one core idea. Then we’ll convene and discuss (creating a pseudo build/measure/learn cycle) and see how it affects the canvas.
Sue Marrone will be our workshop facilitator and she has been facilitating the Value Proposition map for several companies now and has found it to be an eye-opener for these companies. It has truly clarified the product-market fit for some of these companies. She had one company see that they were not addressing the customer's most important needs and another is raising its rates because of how well they matched their customer's needs.
