Activity: Clean Code with LEGOs®

Clean code is an art form and necessity for any software product to remain sustainable. Unfortunately, the pressure to deliver and poor visibility into the value of clean code often results in a product that inhibits a team’s ability to respond to changing requirements.

No need to be a developer for this exercise, we’re going to use LEGOs® as our code. No matter your role on a team, we’re going to build a shared understanding as to how clean code allows a team to deliver better software.

Activity: Agile Principles at Play

Whether you deliver code or are tasked with product management, most of us have experienced the challenges of delivering high-quality functionality which truly meets or exceeds client expectations. Add to that the real-world business challenges generated from large-scale operations and distributed teams and “getting it right” gets even more difficult.

In our second exercise of the evening, we explore these elements through activities designed to help us see in real-time the elements which contribute to improving our effectiveness in consistently delivering accurate solutions in a timely manner. You can use this activity as a tool to help those in your workspace who are having difficulty in seeing the value of Agile principles in play.
