Talk #1: OpenWhisk on Bluemix by Juan Pablo Genovese @Altoros
OpenWhisk, a cloud distributed service, is a great way to bring event-based programming to your microservice architecture. It can be very useful to develop services that react to events instead of a more "imperative" data flow.
We will go through basic concepts, architecture, and show a brief example of how to use this service with IBM's Bluemix.
About Speaker:
Juan Pablo Genovese is a Field Cloud Foundry Engineer at Altoros. He has been in software development for 18 years and, as a “jack of all trades” has also been into DevOps work. Juan Pablo is focused on training new DevOps Engineers at Altoros and helping customers to adopt and use Cloud Foundry. His professional interests include designing high-performance solutions with cloud technologies. Juan Pablo has spoken at several conferences in the U.S., Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, and, proudly, at CF Summit Santa Clara 2015.
Talk #2. Domain-Driven Design by Sergey Matyukevich @Altoros
During this meetup, we will go through the recommendations, patterns, and approaches to building domain-driven distributed systems that are easy to evolve and scale.
Join us and learn how to:
-
design an architecture that describes its domain without creating additional abstraction levels or adding models that do not exist in real life
-
define areas of responsibility for loosely coupled microservices and avoid overlaps in functionality
-
use best practices to ensure that your system is easy to maintain and work with in the long run
About Speaker:
Sergey Matyukevich is Senior Cloud Foundry Engineer at Altoros. With 6+ years in software
engineering, he is an expert in cloud automation and designing architectures for complex cloud-
based systems. Sergey is an active member of the Go community, a frequent contributor to open-
source projects (Ubuntu, Juju Charms, etc.), and the author of a popular blog series on Golang
internals. He has also designed and delivered a number of training courses on Cloud Foundry and
cloud-native development for DevOps engineers, software developers, and architects.
