Session 1: "Continuous Delivery Made Easy With ArgoCD"

Throughout the decades the limiting factors of software development have changed a lot. As hardware capabilities grew, we were often limited by how fast code for all these new problem domains could be produced. With the advent of cloud computing and large open source library ecosystems, most of these constraints are not nearly what they used to be. In recent years new methodologies were developed to help us shorten the feedback cycle, one of which is Continuous Delivery. In this talk we will show how you can easily build a CD process that fits your needs on top of a managed kubernetes offering like Exoscale SKS, together with ArgoCD.

Speaker: Wouter Dullaert is a senior software engineer at Exoscale. After having spent some time in academia, Wouter has spent the last decade building and designing large IT systems in a variety of industries such as Telco, Automotive and government. Off the clock, Wouter spends a lot of his time traveling, doing athletics and producing music.

Session 2: "Understand the security risks associated with APIs and learn how to tackle them"

With the explosion of APIs within enterprises, malicious users are actively trying to go after your company's crown jewels by trying to breach your APIs. In this session you will learn how a modern API Security Platform can tackle API security challenges. You will learn — by a live demo — how an attacker can exploit an API vulnerability even though the API traffic is routed ("secured") through an API Gateway and you will learn how the D.A.R.T. (Discover, Analyze, Remediate & Test) strategy can help you to sleep better at night.

Speaker: Steven Duckaert, solution architect at Noname Security, is a no-nonsense technology enthusiast with a strong focus on emerging technologies. Steven worked at several technology companies such as Veeam Software, Nutanix and before joining Noname Security at a Kubernetes company named Platform9. Besides being eager to constantly learn about new technologies and methodologies to improve business services, Steven also likes to explore new places and get to know new cultures.

Session 3: "The AWS Load Balancer Controller"

Kubernetes applications often need to be exposed to external traffic, and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) customers leverage Elastic Load Balancers to do this. The AWS Load Balancer Controller is a controller that helps manage Elastic Load Balancers for a Kubernetes cluster. It was donated to Kubernetes SIG-AWS and is an open source project managed on GitHub. In this session, you will learn - through a technical presentation and a live demo - how the AWS Load Balancer Controller works and how to set it up.

Speaker: Simone Pomata is a Solutions Architect at AWS. He has been working with passion in the tech industry since 2012. At AWS, he helps customers succeed in implementing AWS technologies every day.

The event will be recorded and made available later on VSHN's YouTube channel: https://vshn.tv – subscribe to be notified of updates!

We expect all participants to abide by VSHN's Conference Code of Conduct: https://www.vshn.ch/en/code-of-conduct/
