A how-to guide for converting your project to GitOps with Flux (Pi Unnerup, Controlplane)
Weave Flux and the GitOps workflow are currently permeating the DevOps space. But the migration of a CI-driven project to a Git-driven one can be a daunting task. This talk takes you through a tangible migration strategy with real-world examples, pitfalls and a model of what your actual GitOps infrastructure could look like.
Pi is an Infrastructure Engineer for ControlPlane, configuring secure end-to-end pipelines in containerised environments. She has contributed to projects securing high impact products, and worked on critical national infrastructure for the UK Home Office. She can be found as @PiUnnerup and pi-unnerup (GH).
Kubernetes within the Enterprise: The nightmares that keeps one awake! (Deepak Ramchandani, Contino)
Deepak Ramchandani is Principal Consultant at Contino and experienced at working as a Technical Architect and Business Technology Consultant for multinational organisations helping them execute technology led transformation and modernization programmes. He has worked on: Azure / Azure Stack, Docker, Mesosphere DC/OS, Kubernetes, VMWare / HyperV hypervisors, VMware Cloud Foundation.

The presentation will talk about cloud computing challenges in the enterprise environment, what can be the strongest open source option, as well as cost effective, flexible, reliable and fast execution.
We will discuss about some lessons learnt through the full lifecycle private cloud deployment of a top 3 largest financial services provider in Central and Eastern Europe. Sneak peek: The European banking Group system was operational within 2 weeks after the concept was finalized and it was designed to provide the Bank’s internal users a more flexible self-served computing services with an open source based cloud that is auto-rebalanced, auto-optimized, that can span the Bank’s multiple data centers, and engineered for reliability.
Kenneth Tan has been in the large scale systems sector for 18+ years. At Sardina Systems, Kenneth leads the product development team responsible for building OpenStack automation software, to optimize OpenStack cloud operations. He was previously with CloudFabriQ, BNP Paribas, OptimaNumerics, in product development and business development roles, involving products and services sold to major data center operators in automotive,energy, defense, meteo, finance.
