May Tech Talk Series (QA, JavaScript, Spring, and more!)
Details
Hey, CoLabbers!
We have something very special planned for May’s CoLabs event. This month, we’ll be hosting a series of Tech Talks covering topics like front-end development, quality assurance, Spring Boot, and databases. Join us to hear some of our Detroit Labs team members talk about their areas of expertise!
We’ll be viewing these talks in our Discord server on Wednesday, May 26, from 6-8 PM ET. Each talk will feature a visual presentation, and each speaker will do a Q&A after their talk.
Here are the topics for this month's Tech Talks:
Kitty Garrison - Variables, Postman Superstars: Make the most of Postman’s many variable scopes and let dynamic data take your API tests to the next level. We will use these powerful tools to take the pain out of repeating calls and create a more robust data set.
Donovan Brown - Navigating through JavaScript: This talk focuses on various strategies for learning the JavaScript language. We’ll cover what users can create with JavaScript as well as topics regarding the top three most popular JavaScript frameworks.
Nelida Velazquez - Introduction to Spring Data R2DBC: Reactive frameworks in Spring have been here for a while, but Reactive Connectivity for Relational Databases is still relatively new. We will take the opportunity to learn about the advantages of using R2DBC and see code examples for some of the most common use cases, such as CRUD operations, custom repositories, batch operations, and transactions.
Katrina Ohlemacher - Four Things to Know About QA (Number Five Will Blow You Away): This talk centers around how people who are new to development can expect to work with QA on their teams. Hear some tips that will allow you to distinguish yourself by being a great dev partner in the testing process.
We hope you'll join us to hear these talks!
