WHAT WE’LL DO:
Choosing the Right WordPress Theme
Join us this month when we talk about choosing the right WordPress theme for your project. If you have ever searched for a WordPress, you know there are thousands of free in the WordPress Theme Repository alone, and that doesn't even include premium themes. This month we'll discuss how to narrow down your search and find a solid theme to use for your site.
This meetup will be for asking questions, sharing knowledge and connecting with other WordPress users, laptops and business cards are acceptable and encouraged!
This group is run by and for anyone managing, building, designing websites. Developers, marketers, site managers, and more: if you make your living building, maintaining, or marketing WordPress websites, come join the discussion and connect with your people. :)
WHAT TO BRING:
Business cards, laptop, project notes, topic ideas & WordPress questions
IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
WordPress 5.0, including the Gutenberg update has been released. If you missed the meetup where we talked about Gutenberg, you can learn more about it here: https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/
If you are managing client sites and don’t want the Gutenberg updates yet, you can install the Classic Editor plugin until your clients are ready for the update: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/
Need to practice your Investor Pitch, "elevator" story, presentation, TEDx talk, or part of a speech? Come join us! Drop in, get a chance to practice, and feel more prepared for your next time on the stage.
To be clear: I am a presentation and communication coach. This is not a coaching session. I'm happy to offer some positive feedback, but I only offer constructive criticism when I'm in an agreement with a client so I know we have the time to get to the other side. I do love facilitating groups and have seen great things happen with good community feedback.
This will be a facilitated group session: a comfortable, supportive space where you can practice your speaking in front of a small group, get feedback about what is landing well with the audience, and hear what questions they may have.
Bring a device to record yourself (phone is fine), materials to take notes with, and a generous attitude to support your fellow speakers.
