This is a group for those who are interested in living life more fully through secular mindfulness. The meetings will focus on both mindfulness theory and meditations along with mindful tools, that will help us live life with greater awareness. Each meeting will have a soft agenda as a discussion start point that will be determined by the groups topic interests.

Mindfulness Meditation & Practice

Our meetups are held on every other Tuesday night at 6:30 PM. We start the meetup with a focus meditation at 6:40 PM. Please plan on arriving before the meditation begins. If you are new to mindfulness and/or meditation we invite you to attend earlier to meet Melissa and I and to ask any questions you may have. We are happy to meet and support new members. Everyone is welcome! A typical meetup will have 2 meditations (meditations are typically 10-20 mins or less) - very suitable for beginners and those experienced with meditation. We begin each session with a focused meditation and follow up with brief discussions about mindfulness topics. Each meetup has a mindfulness exercise that we practice and you can also bring home with you ( as a handout) to bring mindfulness to your daily routine. Our second mindful meditation is usually guided by Melissa, and normally corresponds with the mindful topic of the evening. Prior to the first meditation of the evening we have an ‘Off Topic’ segment to discuss member interests, suggestions and connect with each other. Typically occurs between 6:15 and 6:40. We are hoping to have guest presenters that support our goals and interests. I’d love to hear any suggestions on topics, guest speakers, or meditations that you find particularly helpful. Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation Join us on alternating Tuesday evenings for guided meditations The meetup will start with a grounding silent meditation followed by an introduction to the Guided meditation of the evening, the guided meditation, and ending with discussion around the experience or whatever topic interests the group. Guided meditation is a great way to reduce stress and anxiety while meditating in a group setting to a guided experience of being at the beach, taking a walk in a forest, and other relaxing and stress reducing activities. Melissa will facilitate these meetups and do the guided meditations
