Test drive iOS apps easily with Fleet by Jared Friese (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jared-friese-56523799/) (Software Engineer @ Pivotal (https://pivotal.io))

A typical expression of the iOS development community states that test-driving iOS applications often proves harder than it does with other technologies such as Ruby or Java. In particular, working with critical pieces of UIKit such as storyboards and even table views at times can leave TDD practitioners feeling as though testability hardly entered the minds of UIKit's designers. What is a responsible, test-first developer to do? Enter Fleet, which aims to bring joy and efficiency back into the iOS developer's everyday test-driving practices. By introducing APIs to do the heavy work of interacting with UIKit such as taking action on table views and text fields, Fleet lets you write smaller and more idiomatic test code. More radically, by allowing you to inject elements directly into your storyboards, Fleet allows you to isolate storyboard view controllers for unit testing in a way that you may not have ever thought possible. The result is smaller, more expressive test code that lets you get straight to testing the behavior you want.

Forget about parsing JSON with AWS API Gateway by Alex Tamoykin (https://alextamoykin.com) (CTO @ Shuttle Finance (https://shuttlefinance.com))

Most of the apps are powered by JSON API. As developers, we sometimes spend 25% to 50% of our time on writing networking code, making requests and parsing JSON. Wouldn't it be nice to not worry about it and focus on fun and engaging UI instead? This is where AWS API Gateway comes in. With API Gateway, you can define your API in one place, export a native Swift SDK and use it in your app without writing custom code. After watching this talk, you'll be able to integrate AWS API Gateway into your app and forget about JSON parsing altogether.

WWDC lightning talks by you

There are a lot of exciting things announced by Apple this year. We would love to hear what you have to say. Keep it simple, a short presentation or showcasing a project works just fine. Message Alex to get on the list.
