“build with, not for” --Laurenellen McCann (http://laurenellen.com/)

Code for Jersey City is a nonpartisan, civic-tech, volunteer community group that collaborates with local government and community partners. We build new tools that help with local civic issues, advocate for better technology and open government, and provide a space for residents to voice and act on their ideas so that our city can grow for, and by the people.

We use open data, user research and other metrics to visualize trends to support our city. We offer innovative ways to use the web and mobile software in government operations and community outreach for residents to be informed and empowered.

We need everyone to participate! Come join other developers, designers, data geeks, civic leaders, community organizers, and idea-makers and get involved in making a change.

Brigade Congress 2022

Network event

Needs a location

Code for America and the Brigade Network proudly invite you to the 6th annual Brigade Congress! This hybrid event will occur online and in person in St. Louis, MO, from October 14-16, 2022.

What is Brigade Congress?
Brigade Congress is the primary convening centered around the Code for America Network - bringing together Brigade volunteers and leaders, government and community partners, and civic tech professionals. Together, we share our collective vision of what's next for our movement and learn the skills we need to level up our civic hacking communities.
We have planned training sessions, collective action activities, speakers, unconference sessions, lightning talks, participatory governance, and more.

Come ready to share your stories on what has worked and hasn't and how we can apply those lessons to future wins. We'll tackle how to prevent burnout, how to solve complex problems, and how to overcome the challenges you're facing on the ground.

But beyond that, we'll come together around our shared values and learn how volunteers like you work for change.

Check our website for lots of information. You can also see the schedule and join the conversations on Discourse.
