You should join if you love technology, all things digital and want to keep learning new things, preferably over pizza and cookies (not necessarily at the same time.)
This group will bring learning experiences, talks, demos, all sorts - and we'd love for you to be a part of it! You could be an experienced developer or someone who is just getting started and working out if tech is for them. Either way, you'll meet great people, join a brand new digital community and learn some top stuff along the way.
Code Nation, EMIS Health and Manchester Girl are joining forces once again to bring you a place to meet inspiring women across the digital sector, discuss your passion for technology, and shed light on the pathways to success in Software Development.
You may already be familiar with the concept, but the digital skills shortage affects businesses of all sizes and in all sectors, which means there is no better time than right now to train to become a Software Developer. Learning to code is an essential skill, since coding is what makes it possible for us to create computer software, apps and websites... and in an increasingly digitalised world, we need more people with these skills!
When it comes to deciding whether to take the plunge and become a Developer, asking Google what to do can be information overload. We think it's important for people who are looking to pursue a career in the digital sector to be given the facts - and the fun - about life as a Developer in an easy and accessible way...
That's why we've partnered with the EMIS Health and Manchester Girl to educate you on the pathways to becoming a Developer, what you can expect as a professional in the sector, and the skills you'll need to succeed in the field.
Our event on October 30th will start from 5.30pm where you can grab some pizza and get to know the other guests. We'll share some lightning talks from 6.30pm, and then close the event with an open Q+A session so we can answer everyone's questions.
This event is inclusive and open to anyone - not just those who identify as women!
Don't forget to RSVP so we know how much pizza to order :)
