Open Data Day 2019

Details

The Asheville Police Department has released the following data to the public:

  • Use of Force
  • Emergency Call Data / Calls for Service
  • Crime Reports
  • Citizen Complaints
  • Traffic Stops

Code for Asheville is helping our community understand and use this information.

Open Data Day, an annual international event, is on March 2nd. As Code for Asheville’s participation, we are sponsoring this local event to use the newly released, publicly available, Asheville Police Department data sets.

We'll provide an overview of the data available, how to access it, and how to use it, as well as presentations on how other public data sets (County, U.S. Census) may be useful, and how they are being used.

Following the presentations, the presenters will be available to discuss and work on specific analysis projects suggested by attendees.
