Code for Cville’s 2021 Kickoff! New Project Announcements & Info Session

Details
Code for Charlottesville (https://codeforcville.org) is a volunteer organization that brings people with tech, data, design, research, and community building skills together to work on projects that meet a direct and significant need for local government or an area nonprofit. We are a local chapter of Code for America (https://codeforamerica.org), a national network of local brigades using civic technology to do community service.
We launched in September 2019, and since March 2020 we’ve been meeting entirely over Zoom. That hasn’t stopped us from working on projects with the Legal Aid Justice Center (https://www.justice4all.org/), the Charlottesville Fire Department (https://www.charlottesville.gov/222/Fire), and the Charlottesville Office of Human Rights (https://www.charlottesville.gov/665/Human-Rights).
We’ve been hard at work to develop three new projects. We are excited to tell you more about these projects and to give you all the information you need to join the team. All three projects are ready to launch, and we would love your help with any of these projects. It doesn’t matter if you are a highly experienced tech professional, or a beginner. If you have a passion for civic tech and community service, come join us!
Project 1: A Tech-Consulting Shop to Benefit Area Charities and Nonprofits (“The Shop”)
