Details

Join us on Saturday, Sept 21, from 10 am to 4 pm at Learning Objects, conveniently located steps away from the Dupont Circle metro stop.

Criminal record expungement is the theme for 2019's National Day of Civic Hacking. Code for DC is partnering with Gwen Washington of Rising for Justice (RFJ), to create the Expungement Eligibility Guide app. RFJ is a DC organization that runs legal clinics where residents can get help having their criminal records expunged. The goal of the project is to develop a webapp/web form that helps volunteer lawyers give faster, more accurate service to clients.

Code for DC is also partnering with National Expungement Week (NEW), a week of events across the U.S. that offers expungement and other forms of legal relief to some of the 77 million Americans with convictions on their records. We encourage all Code for DC volunteers to attend the 2 events in DC, on Wed 9/25 & Sat 9/28. See event details for NEW's events here: https://www.offtherecord.us/washington-dc

If you're interested in being a sponsor, email team (at) codefordc.org.

Donations of all amounts are always welcome, donate directly online here: https://codefordc.github.io/donate. You can designate funds specifically to support this event by noting "NDOCH" in the instructions box.
