What we're about

Code for Hawaii is a brigade of Code for America. We are a volunteer group of developers, designers, project managers, and community members who gather to work on civic projects that help the community.

People of all skill levels and disciplines (coders and non-coders) are welcome to join us. Just show up and we'll brief you on our current project. We're eager to learn what you would like to work on and create opportunities to contribute to a project. This is a great opportunity to contribute to community-centered projects, learn new skills & practice current ones, and connect with others in the community!

One of our active projects is Kūkā, an app for submitting remote video testimonies. Many state residents that reside on islands other than O'ahu must book flights to Honolulu if they want to give in-person testimonies. This app enables residents from other islands to share their opinions on matters involving the state. We are currently building is the MVP (minimal viable product) for Kūkā to test the concept in the field.

We hope to see you at the next meeting!
