Our Featured Speaker will be Maria Yuan from IssueVoter (IssueVoter.org). Maria Yuan is the founding executive director of IssueVoter, with a mission is to give everyone a voice in our representative democracy. The idea for IssueVoter came when Maria was managing a campaign in Iowa, a state known for its voter engagement. She followed the civic tech space for nearly 10 years before IssueVoter launched in 2016, the day after the presidential election, answering the question “We voted, now what?” Now, IssueVoter has sent over three million alerts to individuals and opinions back to Congress from individuals across all 435 Congressional Districts and D.C.
