Announcement: Change of Organization to Code for Tampa Bay
Dear Community Members,
We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to inform you of an important change regarding our organization's structure and initiatives. After careful consideration and evaluation, we have made the decision to transition from our previous affiliation with Code for America's Brigade initiatives to a new organization called TechUp (techupgroup.org). As some of you may be aware, Code for America has decided not to continue with its Brigade initiatives, which has led us to reevaluate our direction and seek new opportunities for collaboration and community impact. TechUp will step in as the new sponsoring organization, providing us with the necessary resources and support to continue our mission of leveraging technology for the betterment of our community. With this transition, there will be a few changes to our digital platforms in the upcoming days. Our Meetup group, Github repository, and Slack workspace will undergo a transition process to align with our new organization. We understand that these platforms have been crucial for our community's collaboration and communication, and we are working diligently to ensure a seamless transition.TechUp will bring a more narrow focus on working with community organizations to address their technological needs and challenges. While our primary emphasis will be on collaborating with local groups to develop impactful solutions, we also want to stress that we remain open to exploring and developing open-source civic projects. Our commitment to using technology for the greater good will continue to be at the forefront of our endeavors. We are incredibly excited about this new chapter and the opportunities it presents for our community. We believe that TechUp will enable us to make an even greater impact on our local organizations and the wider Tampa Bay area. We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and participation in our initiatives, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.
