What we're about

Code for Tampa Bay is a Code for America Brigade, part of an international network of people committed to using our voices and hands, in collaboration with local governments, to make our communities better. Code for Tampa Bay Brigade helps build participatory power in our cities by holding regular civic hack nights and events, advocating for open data, and deploying apps. Brigades celebrate and share their successes with the Brigade network to further the global civic innovation movement. April Meetup: Spring into Civic Tech!

AMRoC Fab Lab

This month we'll hear from Shannon Mills, a Strategic Performance Management Analyst for Pinellas County Government. Shannon will share with us the work she's doing with a Socrata implementation project, working to streamline all internal operational/performance measures and create an open data platform to make data more accessible to the public. A key component of this project is identifying key datasets, breaking down data silos and working with various data owners within the County to understand the data and how to automate the data inputs/outputs through various methods. Shannon is a Florida native and USF alumna, and made the switch to the public sector last year after spending the majority of her career at Nielsen, working in telecom research. First time visitors, please join us at 6pm for a quick orientation to learn more about Code for Tampa Bay and how you can get involved with projects.
