Join us to kick off 2019 to catch up on what we've been up to, discuss plans for the coming year and hear from guest speaker Sarah Couture, Community Outreach Manager at Feeding Tampa Bay discussing the digital outreach program to assist SNAP applicants.
6:30-7:00 Code for TB orientation, updates
7:00-7:30 Guest Speaker, Q&A
7:30-8:00 Discuss plans for Synapse Innovation Summit
Code for America has done work in this space both with https://www.codeforamerica.org/programs/getcalfresh as well as expanding those ideas into other initiatives https://medium.com/code-for-america/reshaping-the-safety-net-the-integrated-benefits-initiative-state-cohort-32ea621e40d5
All of that work starts with user research and understanding the needs of the applicant, the folks you are trying to assist. This is an excellent opportunity to volunteer to help our neighbors, better understand the intersection of technology, non-profits and government. No coding skills required, just a comfortable level with computers. Additional training and requirements will be provided by Sarah and Feeding Tampa Bay.
