What we're about

Code for Tucson is the Tucson chapter of Code for America – a national network of technologists, advocates, and organizers who work to break down barriers and help people access services and meet local needs.

Help Tucson work better! Join us and contribute your skills toward building new tools and improving how the government serves the community. We need coders, writers, marketers, researchers, designers, and organizers. No matter your experience or skill level, you have a place here.

We are working on a new website, so stay tuned. In the meantime, find us on Slack at https://codefortucson.slack.com/.

This is the bi-monthly virtual meetup for Code for Tucson, hosted the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Newcomers always welcome!

We have three active projects:

  • Designing and building a refreshed website for Code for Tucson, and revisiting our social media presence
  • Designing and building a website called "Desert Lifestyle Tucson" that shares the joys of living in Tucson and how to acclimate and thrive in our desert town
  • Create a GovTrackerAZ website to provide more information to voters about local candidate

The agenda is:

  • Welcome and orientation for newcomers
  • Overview and status of active projects
  • Show and tell with Q&A
  • Break and opportunity to off-ramp

  • Breakouts for project team work time
  • Regroup and celebrate together!

Anyone attending a Code for America event or participating in our online community should feel safe and be free from harassment. Please read our Code of Conduct here: https://codeforamerica.org/code-of-conduct/
